Jung-Ho Kang, SS, of the Nexen Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization’s posting has closed. According to a Yonhap News Agency report, the team has accepted a bid and the winner will have 30 days to negotiate a contract with Kang.
If an agreement is not reached he will return to the Nexen Heros. Agent Alan Nero is reportedly seeking a deal worth $20 million over four years.
Jung-Ho Kang, 27, hit .354 with 39 home runs and 115 RBI last season in Korea.
The A’s and Giants have previously been tied to the bidding of Jung-Ho Kang. It is not known which team has won the bidding thus far but it is not the San Diego Padres, New York Mets or Baltimore Orioles according to reports from CBS Sports, the New York Post and Baltimore Sun, respectively.
