The San Francisco Giants have signed Nori Aoki, whom Giants fans may remember as having played for the team that opposed the Giants in the World Series, the Kansas City Royals. Aoki had a 285/349/360 AVG/OBP/SLG line and was worth 2.3 Wins Above Replacement Level in 2014 according to Fangraphs. He provides a decent bat and is a 287 career hitter but has only hit 19 homers in 1811 atbats so will not provide home run power. Aoki who presumably will play left field for the Giants has a precarious defensive history despite winning three consecutive Gold Gloves from 2006-08 with the Yakult Swallows in Japan. Aoki could be supplanted by Gregor Blanco in late innings for defense.
Aoki’s deal is a 1 year contract and option with a $4.7 million guarantee plus $1.5 million in unknown performance bonuses each year. The option is valued at $5.5 million.cheap cialis nz
